Vinnaithaandi varuvaaya

I listened to this just a moment ago. I have heard this bit of music in the film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, when the film opens the titles credits. The woman humming tune, gives you an insight into the film. It describes the heroine as a soft and calm woman.. but yet so deep and mysterious and weak. The tinge of sorrow in the tune tells us that there is an element of tragedy in this film and the character will accept the pain with grace. The base piano hints a bit of confusion in her mind, a to be or not to be kind of a situation. She loves her man deeply, yet cannot stand up for herself. She seeks solace in burying her love for him deep in her heart, the only place where she can be herself.
Believe me, I was able to deduce this even before seeing the film. That's the power of A R Rahman. To my surprise my guess was right.
